15 new illegal casinos identified!

On 20 November 2025, the Gaming Commission (GC) updated its blacklist of illegal gambling websites by adding 15 new unlicensed platforms.

A persistent threat

For several years now, Belgium has maintained an official list of banned sites to complement its system for regulating online gambling. The purpose of this list is to block access to unlicensed casinos, which expose players to significant risks: fraud, non-payment of winnings and lack of legal recourse.

According to the GC, these illegal platforms use sophisticated strategies: they change their domain name, imitate well-known legal sites, and sometimes exploit hijacked sites to trap players. This latest wave on 20 November confirms that the threat is constantly evolving, forcing the authorities to remain vigilant.

One of the most worrying phenomena highlighted by the GC is digital identity theft. Some illegal operators create sites that are very similar, or even almost identical, to those that are authorised, in the hope of deceiving players. One of the casinos blocked on 20 November was impersonating Bingoal.

How players can protect themselves

In the face of this ever-present threat, what can players do?

  • Check the licence: before registering, make sure that the casino is on the GC’s list of legal casinos.
  • Check the official blacklist: the Commission regularly publishes its list of banned sites on its website.
  • Beware of clones: if a site looks very similar to a legal casino, be careful. The URL may be slightly different.
  • Report any suspicious behaviour: if you come across dubious promotions or spoofed addresses, inform the GC.

The Commission’s strategy appears to be a solid response to a structural problem. By securing the ecosystem, it protects players while preserving the integrity of the online gambling market.
