In the Netherlands, it’s very popular for lotteries to support various charities. Think of the Postcode Loterij and the Vriendenloterij. Lotteries Lot of Happiness and Care-a-Lot, also known for their commitment to charities, have now decided to join forces and merge under the name Lot of Happiness.
Lotteries were founded by FAIRSHARE Netherlands
FAIRSHARE is a Dutch company that profiles itself as innovative, accessible, transparent, and socially responsible. They focus on healthcare and are committed to children in the Netherlands and abroad. What makes their approach unique is that participants can choose their own charity.
Back then, the Lot of Happiness lottery was founded in 2018, and half of every donation would go to Make-A-Wish Netherlands. Two years later, Care-a-Lot joined the party, which supports healthcare charities in the Netherlands.
Moving forward together under one unified name
Now they’ve decided to continue together under one unified name. By forming a single team, they hope to make an even greater impact and continue to grow together.
Their goal is to create a lottery with even more and bigger prizes, more winners and maximum impact for the affiliated charities.

The last regular Care-a-Lot draw will take place on September 1st. Care-a-Lot participants will automatically participate in the Lot of Happiness lottery starting September 30, 2025. They’ll receive a nice welcome gift: as a former Care-a-Lot participant, they’ll play the first new draw for free.
Numerous charities are supported under the new name
Care-a-Lot participants can continue to support all the charities they previously supported under the new name.

Lot of Happiness has raised over 45 million euros for these charities in recent years thanks to all the participants. The participants have a chance to win prizes ranging from an electric cargo bike and a game console to cash prizes, with a grand prize of no less than 1 million euros.
