These well-known sites, which rank highly on Google, promote illegal casinos. We debunk these fake lists of the best casinos for you.
Among the results for the search “what are the best casinos in Belgium,” we find well-known sites that offer lists of the top 10 or top 20 best casinos. These sites look completely legitimate, and yet… they promote illegal casinos!
Which sites should you avoid and how can you recognize an illegal casino? We explain everything.
SEO tips
For several months now, the top rankings for the best casinos in Belgium that appear first on Google are rankings that promote illegal casinos.
These affiliate sites position themselves as experts in the field of gambling in Belgium. They use numerous keywords such as “Top 5 Best Online Casinos in Belgium.” They publish reviews of legal casinos with false information and promises of welcome bonuses of €250, but without links to access these legal casinos.

Alongside these lists of legal casinos are lists reserved for illegal casinos. These are advertised as being among the best casinos, offering bonuses of up to €500 or €1,000 and, of course, providing valid registration links.

All this mixed information is intended to mislead players and redirect them solely to illegal casinos. When players recognize the names of legal casinos such as Circus, Star Casino, or 777, they do not suspect the other casinos listed.
Purchase of high-authority domain names and hacked sites
To secure the best spots on Google, you need to have a site with a high authority score. This technique is well mastered by these dubious sites, which do not hesitate to buy high-authority domain names that are no longer in use or to hack existing sites to add hundreds of fraudulent pages.
Frank Kruit, content strategist for Mr Casino in the Netherlands, has made it his mission to fight these illegal sites. At Gambling Club, we also take this situation seriously, as we believe it seriously harms players.
How can you recognize an illegal casino?
It’s not easy to distinguish between legal and illegal casinos when they are mixed together on an affiliate site. So here are a few tips to avoid unwittingly ending up at an illegal casino:
- Avoid bonuses that seem too good to be true: Many illegal casino sites advertise welcome bonuses. If they seem too good to be true, it’s because they are. In Belgium, sign-up and deposit bonuses are prohibited.
- A URL that does not end with .be: All legal casinos in Belgium end with .be. This is not a foolproof guarantee, as some illegal casinos also use .be URLs, but this is quite rare.
- Check that the license is valid: Some illegal casinos and affiliate sites display a valid license number at the bottom of the page. This is identity theft. To be sure you are on a legal casino, you can check the gaming commission’s website to see if the license number and the site match.
- Trust Gambling Club: here you will only find legal sites. We categorically refuse any association with illegal casinos. Choosing a casino on Gambling Club means choosing security.
