Gaming Commission launches EPIS Campaign: protect yourself from gambling!
The Gaming Commission (KSC) is launching a new awareness campaign around EPIS Excluded Persons Information System on the occasion of the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games. The campaign focuses on the importance of EPIS as a tool to combat gambling addiction.
Protection against gambling addiction
EPIS is a system that offers players the opportunity to exclude themselves from gambling and betting in Belgium. This can be an important step for people struggling with gambling addiction. By excluding themselves via EPIS, players no longer have access to online and offline casinos, slot machine arcades and betting offices.
Working of EPIS
The procedure to exclude yourself via EPIS is simple. Players can do this via the KSC website or via the itsme® app and by contacting the KSC customer service.
In addition to the ability to self-exclude, EPIS can also be used by a third party to request an entry ban for someone with gambling problems. For this, the third party must be able to demonstrate a personal interest and the player in question will be given the opportunity to present his or her defense to the Gaming Commission.
Importance of prevention
The Gaming Commission emphasizes the importance of prevention in the fight against gambling addiction. The EPIS campaign is part of this. In addition to EPIS, the Gaming Commission also offers other tools to protect players, such as the website Stop in time! and the Check your Game app.
Share the campaign and help others
The Gaming Commission calls for sharing the EPIS campaign with others. By doing this, one can help raise awareness of gambling addiction and the help available to those struggling with it.
