Golden Palace Comédie Centrale: a new lease of life in Charleroi
In Charleroi, the Golden Palace Comédie Centrale is back in action with a bang. After a seven-week summer break to carry out modernisation work, the establishment reopened its doors at the end of August in a revamped, warmer and more welcoming décor. But the real surprise came with the inauguration of a brand new living space: La Table de la Comédie, which was a hit from the moment it opened on 21 August 2025.
La Table de la Comédie, a unique experience
This new restaurant at the Golden Palace is not just another addition. Designed as a genuine extension of the stage experience, it combines gastronomy and entertainment. The generous, carefully-crafted menu features convivial cuisine designed to appeal both to theatre-goers who have come to see a play and to food-lovers in search of an original outing.
The synergy between stage and plate is not new, but rarely has it been thought through so coherently. By combining a restaurant with its performance space, the Golden Palace Comédie Centrale is betting on a total experience. The public is invited to immerse themselves in an atmosphere where every detail counts, from the décor to the menu to the welcome.
The resumption of activity was not just a question of cooking. The Golden Palace Comédie Centrale took advantage of its summer closure to transform itself. The bar area has been redesigned, the menu revisited and the atmosphere refreshed. Everything has been done to offer a more comfortable and modern environment, true to the spirit of the place: a meeting place for culture, entertainment and the art of living.
‘Come and enjoy an experience where every detail counts, at the heart of the Golden Palace Comédie Centrale,’ said Vincent Penant, District Manager at Golden Palace.
A rhythm designed for everyone
La Table de la Comédie is open from 5.30pm on Wednesdays to Sundays, a choice carefully thought out to meet the needs of our audience. They can now dine before their play or extend their evening after the curtain has fallen. But the place is also independent: you don’t need a ticket to enjoy this address.
With this successful launch, the Golden Palace Comédie Centrale confirms its central role in the cultural life of the region. The modernisation of its spaces, combined with the opening of La Table de la Comédie, is creating a dynamic that attracts theatre-goers and food-lovers alike.
