The KVA uses social media to warn players about illegal gambling market

The KVA is fighting the illegal market and is using social media extensively to warn players about illegal gambling. Their website will also be rebuilt so that, among other things, members of the quality mark will get their own page.

Responsible Affiliates Quality Mark launched shortly after legalization of online gambling market

After the legalization of the online gambling market, the KVA came into existence. The affiliates that are connected to this characteristic must comply with imposed rules. The KVA code strives for fairness, responsibility and maximum channelization.

However, the legal market lost significant ground, with a decrease in channelization to 49%, making action urgently needed.

Fight against illegal gambling in cooperation

The Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) is working on a partnership with industry parties, tech companies and payment providers to take more decisive action.

The KVA also indicates that it wants to cooperate in this fight and is already taking some concrete steps. For example, they will focus more on visibility via social media and therefore launched a new page on Facebook and Instagram.

Social media important factor in reaching people

It is all about reaching as many people as possible and therefore warning them with the help of social media about the dangers that come with playing via illegal parties. In the meantime, the KVA has already posted and distributed several messages that make their intentions clear, such as indicating that illegal casinos will not pay you out.

Steven Vrolijk (KVA Founder):

“After the kick-off of the alliance for combating illegal online gambling, it is clearer than ever to KVA how serious the problem is. Much will be needed to reduce illegality. We have therefore decided to focus on more information and a quality mark that is also recognizable for consumers.”

He also indicates that they are working hard on the KVA website. This is being completely rebuilt and initiatives are being developed to inform and warn consumers.

The impact of social media cannot be underestimated in this regard. He indicates that they will regularly post about this issue and will also release advertising budget to be able to communicate an information campaign to the general public.

Renewed website with its own page for members

The renewed website will also specifically mention the members of the KVA (the affiliates and license holder) with their own page. The KVA will create special sections and all legal online casinos will be shown.

They will also pay attention to the following matters: Explanation of how the website was checked (KVA code), the date of the most recent annual check and the name of the KVA lawyer who carried out the check.

These initiatives will bring additional benefits to the visibility and reliability of the KVA members. The launch of the new website is expected in September.
