Who will run the Viage Casino in the future?
In Brussels, the licence for the famous Viage gaming and entertainment complex is now the subject of a public tender.
A symbol of Brussels entertainment
Located a stone’s throw from the Grand Place, the Grand Casino Brussels Viage is the country’s largest casino, part of a vast 14,500 m² complex combining gaming, dining, shows and events. The casino’s licence is due to expire, forcing the authorities to relaunch a competitive tendering process. According to available information, the licence has been officially put out to tender, with a deadline of 22 May for the submission of bids.
The casino is currently operated by a group linked to Casinos Austria International, a major global player in the gaming sector. With a presence in numerous countries, this group draws on recognised expertise in the management of gaming and entertainment complexes.
Between regulation and social responsibility
The decision will not be purely financial. The authorities will also have to assess the candidates’ commitments to social responsibility.
Le Viage already highlights prevention and control measures, in conjunction with the regulatory authorities.
