Napoleon Sports & Casino lays off 15 collaborators.

Fifteen employees of “Napoleon Sports & Casino” were asked to resign. This concerns self-employed people whose contract is terminated.

Napoleon Sports & Casino

The company was originally founded under the name “Napoleon Games”, but in 2018 the name was changed to “Napoleon Sports & Casino”. At the end of 2021, the company fell into the hands of the Romanians after the takeover by “Superbet”. This acquisition makes it the market leader in Belgium. Their head office is in Erembodegem. The company also owns the “Grand Casino” in Knokke and, until 2020, held the concession for the “Casino Middelkerke”.

250 collaborators

Napoleon Sports & Casino has a total of 250 collaborators.

Executive Director Tom De Clercq made the following statement:
“This week, we have indeed terminated a number of independent employee contracts. To be clear, these are not direct layoffs or salaried employees, but independent workers whose contracts are terminated.”

He justifies this decision by the change in the current economic climate.

Active in the sports sector

The company is also active in the sports sector. For example, they are still sponsors of the football clubs SV Zulte-Waregem and RSC Anderlecht.

They were also active in cyclocross for a time as a sponsor of the Sunweb-Napoleon Games. And in cycling, where they were sponsors of the “Napoleon Games Cycling Cup”.

Since 2020, they have been collaborating with Deceuninck-Quick-Step, now known as “Soudal Quick-Step”.

Jackpot

In 2021, a Napoleon casino player hits the jackpot of 19,430,723 euros. The winner didn’t know what was happening to him. He had bet 15 euros on the online slot machine “Absolootly Mad: Mega Moolah”. This is the biggest win in an online slot machine. This even earned Napoleon a world record in the Guinness World Records book for the highest jackpot at an online casino.
