888Casinobe.com: A misleading website redirects Belgian players to an illegal casino

The famous Casino 888 made its comeback a few months ago in the Netherlands, much to the delight of players. Unfortunately, the site does not yet have a licence in Belgium, which, as we have explained, means it is still on the list of illegal casinos.
Not all players are aware of this information, and some of them continue to search for a Belgian version of Casino 888. This search is well understood by illegal casinos, which have seen it as an opportunity to divert players to their illegal platforms.
Gambling Club has investigated this phenomenon: sites that appear to be full of good intentions but invariably redirect players to illegal casinos.
Diverting players
A new site has just appeared: 888casinobe.com. On this site, you can read over and over again that playing at 888 Casino from Belgium is completely prohibited because the casino has no licence, and that it is better to choose a 100% legal alternative.
All of this is interspersed with banners advertising welcome bonuses, free deposit bonuses and free spins… bonuses that are completely prohibited in Belgium.
During our investigation, we carefully read this page and tried to see what legal alternatives were offered. Spoiler alert: none! There are no legal alternatives to Casino 888 offered on this site.
Upon further investigation, we noticed that certain banners, notably the main banner on the page, used an affiliate link to redirect players to Royal Tigers Casino, a site that is completely illegal in Belgium!
Royal Tigers already has alternative URLs
Royal Tigers Casino is illegal in Belgium and has just been added to the Gaming Commission’s blacklist. However, the affiliate link is still accessible. How is this possible? Quite simply because Royal Tigers Casino has already created an alternative URL to access the casino, allowing any Belgian player to access the casino directly via this affiliate link without any error messages or IP blocking.
You therefore find yourself on an illegal casino without even being aware of it, since you have just come from a page that explained in 3,000 words how dangerous it is to play on an illegal site.
Casino 888, also a victim
According to the results of our investigation, 888 has nothing to do with this site or with Royal Tigers. They are victims of misuse of their name and logo.
This is not the first time that casinos have been abused in this way. A few months ago, PepperMill Casino was also the victim of identity theft in a case of fraudulent advertising.
In recent months, these practices have become commonplace and systematically refer to illegal casinos. The purpose of these advice and prevention pages, and these false advertisements, is to gain the player’s trust in order to deceive them more easily.
