The new Peppermill casino opens in Maastricht
The Peppermill Casino at Maastricht Airport is welcoming its first visitors this Friday, 11 September 2026. This preview opening marks the return of a casino to the premises of the former Grand Casino, which closed a few months earlier.
First visitors welcomed today
It’s D-Day at Maastricht Airport. Peppermill is today opening its new venue to the public as part of an initial launch phase.
This opening comes just a few months after the closure of the former Grand Casino. The Rus Tony Group, which operates Peppermill casinos in the Netherlands and Belgium, took over the premises with the aim of establishing a venue that reflects its brand identity.
A closed casino is given a new lease of life
However, Peppermill did not simply wish to take over the building and change the sign. The premises have been refurbished to meet the operator’s quality standards. In particular, the company emphasises its level of service and hospitality.
Michael Stadler, director of Peppermill Casino in the Netherlands, had also stressed the importance of this location for the group.
“Our visitors from the Maastricht area deserve a high-quality, safe night out of the very highest standard,” said the manager.
A first step ahead of the grand opening
Today’s opening does not yet constitute the official opening of the Peppermill Casino Maastricht Airport.
The launch will initially take place with reduced opening hours. Peppermill has announced that an official opening will be held on 4 October, featuring a celebration and entertainment.
