GGPoker secures another 5 years in the Netherlands

GGPoker will be able to continue operating in the Dutch online gambling market beyond 30 September 2026. The Ksa has granted the operator a new licence valid for five years, starting on 1 October 2026.
Five more years for GGPoker
GGPoker’s future in the Netherlands is now secured for the next five years. The operator, best known for its online poker offering, has been granted a new licence by the Ksa.
The licence will come into force on 1 October 2026 and will be valid for five years. It will allow GGPoker to remain on the regulated Dutch market without interruption following the expiry of its current licence, scheduled for 30 September.
The current licence had been issued to NSUS Group, GGPoker’s parent company. The company was among the operators authorised to operate in the Netherlands from the opening of the regulated online gambling market on 1 October 2021.
Why did GGPoker need to submit a new application?
Obtaining this licence is not merely an administrative extension. In the Netherlands, licences to offer online gambling cannot be renewed automatically.
Licence holders wishing to continue their operations upon the expiry of their licence must therefore submit a new application to the regulator. GGPoker followed this procedure before its first licence expired.
GGPoker looks back on its first five years
For GGPoker, this new licence also represents an opportunity to take stock of its first five years in the Dutch market.
Brendan Sleutel, Head of Compliance at GGPoker, welcomed the opportunity to continue operations for a further five years. In particular, he emphasised the company’s commitment to remaining a safe and familiar environment for Dutch poker enthusiasts.
“We have now been operating in the Netherlands for five years and can now add another five years to that. Five years in business, zero fines. Now we’re aiming for ten!”, said Brendan Sleutel.
He also thanked players for “the trust, loyalty and enthusiasm” they have shown since GGPoker entered the regulated market.
A wave of new licences in the Netherlands
GGPoker is not the only established operator to have secured a new licence ahead of the 30 September 2026 deadline.
GGPoker has thus become the sixth operator in this group to confirm that it will remain on the Dutch market for a further five years.
Bet365 also announced that it had been granted a new licence. Of the eight established operators concerned, only BetCity’s situation remains unclear.
