Gaming1 takes control of Carousel

Gaming1 has announced the acquisition of all the shares in Pac-Man NV, the company behind Carousel. Completed on 22 September 2026, the deal is set to enable the Liège-based group to strengthen its digital operations in the regulated Belgian market.

A partnership that began in 2012 takes on a new dimension

Gaming1 and Pac-Man NV are no strangers to working together. According to the press release issued by the Belgian group, the two companies have been working closely together on Carousel since 2012.

This collaboration is now taking on a new dimension. Gaming1 has acquired 100 per cent of the shares in Pac-Man NV, bringing the latter under its full control. The group states that the acquisition will enable it to benefit from the licence and digital portfolio held by Pac-Man NV. It thus intends to add new capabilities to its operations in Belgium.

Sylvain Boniver, Chief Operating Officer at Gaming1:

“We believe this acquisition will further strengthen our digital presence in Belgium and enhance the fun and engaging entertainment experience we offer our players. It will also support our ambition to provide a safe, responsible and distinctive offering in the regulated Belgian market.”

The integration of Pac-Man NV begins immediately

Gaming1 states that Pac-Man NV’s operations are being integrated with immediate effect.

However, there is one significant aspect to this transaction. No transfer of staff is planned as part of the deal. Gaming1 states that the teams involved are working together to ensure what it hopes will be a smooth and efficient integration.

An acquisition focused on the regulated Belgian market

Gaming1 also emphasises the regulated nature of its expansion. In its announcement, the group links this acquisition to its ambition to provide what it describes as a safe, responsible and distinctive offering in Belgium.

The full takeover of Pac-Man NV thus marks a further step in a commercial relationship that began over a decade ago. Having established a partnership in 2012, Gaming1 is now moving towards full ownership of the company behind Carousel.
