PepperMill Casino targeted by more than 20 fake websites

Several new websites using the PepperMill Casino name have been identified. More than 20 such URLs have now been identified. Some bear a strong resemblance to the site they are attempting to imitate, in order to redirect visitors to another platform.
New URLs leading to illegal sites
At first glance, these sites appear to be PepperMill Casino. However, the problem becomes apparent as soon as the user attempts to interact with the page.
The various elements displayed on the screen do not actually lead to the sections a visitor might expect. When someone wants to play, they are sent to another site. Checks carried out by Gambling Club show that virtually every click results in this same redirection to another platform.
Over 20 addresses already identified
Research carried out by Gambling Club has identified over 20 different sites using names similar to PepperMill Casino.
Examples identified include pepercasino.be, pepermill.fr, peppermillcasino.org, peppermill-be.com, peppermill-fr.com, pepper-mill.fr and peppermill-casino.com.
A single missing or extra letter is sometimes enough to create a domain name that might go unnoticed when read quickly. For a gamer who does not check the address displayed in their browser carefully, the difference may therefore be difficult to spot straight away.
Some websites seek to replicate the appearance of the original
Appearance alone is not enough to establish that a website actually belongs to the company whose name or visual elements it uses.
Some websites look very similar, but certain elements of the site do not work properly, particularly the menu. This sort of detail can serve as a clue for the visitor. A website that visually resembles a well-known platform but where certain functions remain inactive or inconsistent warrants particular attention.
PepperMill has taken steps to have the copies removed
In response to the proliferation of these copies, PepperMill Casino has taken steps to secure the removal of the websites in question. These include, in particular, DMCA notices as well as reports to the relevant authorities, including the Gaming Commission.
The aim is to have content or websites removed that reproduce elements belonging to PepperMill Casino without authorisation, or that use its identity in a way likely to cause confusion or defraud players.
Having a website taken down does not necessarily mean that all copies using a similar name will disappear at the same time. Each address constitutes a separate domain, with its own content and its own way of operating. For the company, the task therefore involves identifying new domains, documenting their content and taking the necessary steps when unauthorised use of its material is detected.
