Holland Casino withdraws from online bingo

The range of online bingo in the Netherlands is getting smaller and smaller. After the announcement that Bingosite Tombola will leave the Dutch market on October 1, 2024, it turns out that Holland Casino Online already stopped offering online bingo last week. This news comes as a surprise to many players who have to look for a new provider.

Why did Holland Casino stop online bingo?

After Fair Play Online closed its bingo room at the end of last year, which had not much going on, Holland Casino has also decided to pull the plug on their online bingo offering. The state-owned company used Playtech’s bingo software, but stopped doing so last week. The reason? Holland Casino wants to focus more on other parts of the online casino.

According to Holland Casino, customer interest showed that players spend more time in the live casino and with the poker options. Bingo simply attracted fewer players, which is why the gambling site decided to shift their focus to the products that are more popular among their users.

The future of online bingo in the Netherlands

With the announced departure of Tombola and the discontinuation of the bingo option at Holland Casino, the number of online bingo providers in the Netherlands remains limited. Currently, only Unibet and bet365 still offer online bingo. Unibet works with the Relax Gaming platform for this, while bet365 expanded its bingo offering earlier this year via the Pragmatic Play platform.

However, there is still hope for bingo enthusiasts in the Netherlands. The Dutch Lottery, which operates through its subsidiary TOTO Online, recently received the necessary license to offer online bingo. They want to do this under the brand name Winnitt, using the software from Playtech, the same software supplier that Holland Casino used until last week.
