GC blacklist: Bwin, Ladbrokes and Scooore targeted by illegal sites
On 21 May 2026, the Gaming Commission (GC) updated its list of illegal gambling sites blocked in Belgium. This update specifically targets platforms that imitate Bwin, Ladbrokes and Scooore.
Well-known names used to deceive players
The GC added 22 illegal gambling sites to its blacklist on 21 May. Several of the sites added have URLs similar to those of legal casinos, notably Bwin, Ladbrokes and Scooore.
These platforms, which seek to inspire confidence by copying the appearance or name of operators recognised by the Belgian public, are dangerous. For a player, confusion can arise quickly: a familiar name, a similar address, a reassuring interface, and the impression of being on a licensed platform.
The GC urges players to check an operator’s legal status before depositing money or creating an account. It also reminds players that only sites holding a Belgian licence may use its official label, which is intended to identify legal operators.
Why are these sites illegal?
In Belgium, a gambling website cannot legally offer its services without a licence issued by the GC. Placing a bet on an illegal platform can have dangerous consequences for players, as these sites do not comply with any applicable laws. Deliberately gambling on an illegal site is also punishable by a fine of between €26 and €25,000.
