Reading time: 2 minutes The Belgian Gaming Commission continues to take tough action against illegal gambling sites. Recently they blocked nine new websites. One of these sites, star-casino.be, tried to profit from the fame of the legal site Star Casino.

Extra measures for major sporting events
With major sporting events such as the European Football Championship and the Olympic Games in Paris this summer the Gaming Commission has taken extra steps to tackle illegal gambling sites. This has resulted in the addition of nine new websites to the already existing blacklist of violators.
The illegal website star-casino.be pretends to be the legal and well-known site StarCasino.be, which has an official license from the Gaming Commission. This shows how creative illegal gambling providers seem to be getting to attract Belgian players.
Warning to players
The Gaming Commission expressly warns players to only gamble on websites that have an official Belgian license and points out the dangers. Illegal gambling sites offer no protection and can even scam players. That’s why it’s important to be aware of where you play.
Collaboration with other agencies
In addition to blocking these websites the Gaming Commission also works with other organizations such as the police to combat illegal gambling activities. They call on players to continue reporting suspicious gambling sites via their website.
