Lightning-fast robbery on Austrian Casino: 100,000 euros stolen!

The Wiener City Casino was robbed in broad daylight on April 7. The robbery lasted less than a minute and the perpetrator is still on the run. The Austrian police are calling on the public to keep a lookout for the man who committed the robbery.

Around 12:50 p.m a masked man entered the casino on Kärntner Straße. The man armed with a gun threatened the employees at the cash register on the ground floor. He then demanded the money and ran off with the loot.

Professional criminal

According to the Wiener Polizei, the suspect was dressed darkly, wearing a dark green baseball cap and black sunglasses. The shocked employee who was threatened with the gun is currently receiving all necessary psychological help.

“He knew exactly where the money was. We are clearly dealing with a real professional here.”

Dietmar Berger of the Landeskriminalamt Wien

The perpetrator left the casino after just a minute with at least 100,000 euros in loot in his Ralph Lauren shirt pocket and disappeared without a trace.

Casino response

The casino stated: “We are shocked by this event and are working closely with the police to catch the villain. We hope the case is resolved quickly.”
