$300 million to transform the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas

The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, an iconic establishment on the famous Strip, is about to begin an impressive metamorphosis. With a colossal budget of $300 million, the hotel is tackling the complete renovation of the 4,212 rooms and suites of its main tower. This major project, scheduled for completion in December 2025, aims to redefine the visitor experience with a modern design inspired by the disco years and innovations adapted to the needs of contemporary travelers.

Opened in 1993, the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino has quickly become one of the must-see symbols of Las Vegas. At the time of its opening, it was the largest hotel in the world with more than 5,000 rooms. It is owned by MGM Resorts International, a world-renowned company that manages several iconic properties, including the Bellagio, Mandalay Bay and Luxor.

Ambitious Makeover

Starting in January 2025, this project represents one of the largest investments ever made by MGM Grand. The first remodeled rooms will be available for booking on March 1, 2025, offering a taste of what the future of luxury will look like on the Strip. Mike Neubecker, President and COO of MGM Grand, said:

“MGM Grand has long been the center of excitement and excitement in Las Vegas. These newly renovated rooms, combined with new attractions to come, demonstrate our commitment to evolving the guest experience for both leisure and business travelers.”

Rooms Designed for the Modern Traveler

The reimagined rooms and suites will strike the perfect balance between functionality, comfort and aesthetics. Inspired by the glamour of the disco era, they will feature vibrant patterns, bold artwork and state-of-the-art amenities. Planned amenities include:

  • Walk-in showers: Offering a spa-like ambiance with sleek glass finishes and luminous materials.
  • Upgraded blackout draperies: Ensure a restful sleep, even in broad daylight.
  • Advanced charging stations: Supporting USB, USB-C and traditional outlets, they meet the needs of a global clientele.
  • Smart TVs: Wall-mounted to maximize space and deliver a premium entertainment experience.

King rooms will feature walnut finishes, textured wallpaper and vibrant carpets, while Queen rooms will feature light gray tones and sophisticated lighting.

Luxurious and Functional Suites

With this renovation, the MGM Grand will add 111 new suites to its collection, bringing the total to 753. Designed to offer both privacy and versatility, these suites will include:

  • Spacious living areas with comfortable sofas.
  • Modern bathrooms with double mirrors and quartz finishes.
  • An interior design playing on contrasts between dark wood and light hues.

Reinvented experiences for all

In parallel with the renovations, the MGM Grand will enrich its offerings with new attractions and dining options. Among them:

  • Netflix Bites: A culinary experience inspired by the streaming platform’s flagship shows, planned for early 2025.
  • Palm Tree Beach Club: A tropical-themed dayclub created by the famous DJ Kygo, expected for summer 2025.

With this $300 million investment, the MGM Grand affirms its desire to remain a must-see player on the Strip. This renovation not only reflects the evolving expectations of travelers, but also the hotel’s commitment to creating unique and immersive experiences.
