711 regrets competitive restrictions on bonus offers due to ruling

The online casino 711 is no longer allowed to offer a bonus of €711. This was determined by the Appeals Board of the Advertising Code Committee (RCC). The decision is in line with an earlier ruling by the Commission. 711 appealed the ruling, but was again told that the bonus was not allowed.

The bonus was higher than €250, while the Online Gaming Advertising Code stipulates that bonuses above this amount are not permitted.

Complaints from trade associations

The complaint against 711 was filed by trade associations VNLOK and NOGA. Both trade associations were involved in the development of the Online Gaming Advertising Code.

Björn Fuchs, board member of VNLOK, explains that the trade associations felt it necessary to file the complaint. Other legal online casinos on the Dutch market would all adhere to the applicable advertising rules:

“It is very annoying that 711 has repeatedly not felt called to adhere to the mandatory Advertising Code on Gaming. Others in the market do this. In the Dutch market, everyone must adhere to these types of codes of self-regulation.”

711 regrets statement

Tom de Backer, CEO of 711, responded in response to being disappointed in the RCC’s ruling. He called the decision competitively restrictive:

“We respect the RCC’s ruling, but think it is a shame that our competitors are taking this path to limit our bonus offer. We believe that our bonus was an attractive and fair option for our customers, and we regret that they can no longer enjoy the benefits.”
