Fantasma Games shareholders greenlight mega deal

EveryMatrix has taken a major step towards acquiring Fantasma Games. The Stockholm-based game studio’s shareholders have voted overwhelmingly in favour of the acquisition. This brings the acquisition by EveryMatrix, which was already underway, one step closer.

Major shareholder support for EveryMatrix acquisition

Last month, EveryMatrix made a public offer worth SEK 209.8 million (€18.5 million). This equates to SEK 59 in cash per Fantasma share. A whopping 95.2% of Fantasma shareholders accepted the offer. The acceptance period ended on Thursday 10 October, and the deal needed the support of at least half of the shareholders to go through. Fantasma shares are listed on the Nasdaq First North Growth Market in Sweden.

What the acquisition means for EveryMatrix and Fantasma Games

EveryMatrix stated that the acquisition will significantly strengthen their game offering. This means that Fantasma slots will be integrated with over 250 operators worldwide. Fantasma’s current partnerships include household names such as Paddy Power, Betsson, LeoVegas, DraftKings and BetMGM.

In addition, EveryMatrix expects the acquisition to further expand their presence in emerging markets such as North America, which they see as a major opportunity.

Synergies and opportunities according to EveryMatrix CEO

Ebbe Groes, co-founder and CEO of EveryMatrix, expressed his delight at the shareholder approval. According to Groes, the acquisition offers benefits to both companies. He emphasized that the acquisition will be fully funded by their own cash flow, made possible by their rapid organic growth.

“We see great synergies and opportunities. Fantasma’s games are recognized by the largest operators and their players as being among the best, both in terms of performance and experience. Their production capacity is impressive, as is their management and staff, who have built a company that consistently delivers remarkable financial results.”

Fantasma founder and CEO Fredrik Johansson echoed Groes’ optimism, calling EveryMatrix the “perfect partner” to support their long-term vision.

“We share not only a shared passion for innovation, but also a deep understanding of what it takes to create games that truly engage and entertain players in a unique way.”

He expressed confidence that the partnership will take their game development to the next level.

Fantasma Games joins the growing EveryMatrix family

Fantasma Games becomes the latest company to join the EveryMatrix family. Earlier in July, EveryMatrix completed the acquisition of betting and iGaming platform FSB Technology. The all-cash deal gave the OddsMatrix sportsbook division a strong foothold in Africa, Ireland and the UK.

On top of that, EveryMatrix reported record revenues of €42.4 million in the second quarter of this year in July. These strong figures followed year-on-year growth across all product lines. EBITDA even reached a historic high of €25.1 million, an increase of 67.3% compared to last year.
