Roddelpraat ends deal with illegal gambling sponsor after criticism

In the latest episode of the popular YouTube program Roddelpraat (Gossip Talk), it was announced that the collaboration with an illegal gambling sponsor has been stopped. Presenters Dennis Schouten and Jan Roos apologized for the mistake.

Previously, Roddelpraat’s sponsor block had advertised an online casino that is not permitted in the Netherlands. Schouten had even claimed that it was a legal casino. This led to criticism and media reporting.

Presenters admit mistake

The presenters admitted that they had taken an “emergency measure” to keep the program running. The previous sponsor had dropped out and donations dropped. As a result, they entered into business with the illegal gambling site, which they said had lied to them about their license.

Schouten emphasized that the deal was made purely for the money and not to get viewers to gamble. Nevertheless, they took full responsibility for the mistake and apologized.

Gossip Talk is now looking for a new sponsor who complies with Dutch legislation.
