Circus Poker Series: Namur buzzing with excitement

Starting today, the city of Namur is entering a unique period. For fifteen days, it will host Europe’s largest live poker festival, an event capable of transforming everyday life in the Walloon capital. At the Circus Casino Resort, players from all over the world are preparing to compete for a prize pool of over two million euros guaranteed.

Namur in the eye of the storm: an extraordinary festival

When the Circus Casino Resort confirmed that it would be hosting the third edition of the Circus Poker Series, no one expected such a huge turnout. Nearly 50 nationalities will be making the trip, some coming to play at Belgian tables for the first time. The event promises to be one of the most memorable in the history of European poker.

To accommodate such a large number of participants, the Casino de Namur has had to reorganise. More than 100 additional staff members will be joining the usual teams to ensure that each tournament runs smoothly and professionally.

‘The Casino is bringing in over 100 extra staff for the occasion, and we’re expecting a particularly busy fortnight,’ says Grégory Puissant, the casino’s poker manager and one of the main organisers of the festival.

An already legendary main tournament

At the heart of the programme, the main tournament is the absolute highlight. With a €2,200 entry fee and a guaranteed minimum prize pool of €750,000, the event is designed to attract the continent’s top players.

‘If participation is as expected, we hope to exceed €1 million in this tournament alone,’ says Grégory Puissant, clearly confident about the enthusiasm generated.

This is a realistic ambition, as nearly 600 players are expected for this main event alone.

Among them are several European poker stars, including Belgian Jonathan Abdelatif, a regular on the major circuits, and Frenchman Romain Le Dantec, winner of the 2024 edition. Their presence adds extra glamour to the event and promises a particularly high level of play.

With this new edition of the Circus Poker Series, Namur is establishing itself firmly on the European poker scene. With its exceptional prize pool and international appeal, the festival promises to be a historic event for the city.
