Pragmatic Play will gradually cease offering its online bingo, sports betting and virtual sports products. The provider will now focus its strategy on online slots and live casino.
A strategic withdrawal following several years of expansion
Pragmatic Play is turning an important page in its development. Having expanded its offering to include bingo in 2018, then sports betting in 2022, the provider has decided to discontinue these activities. Virtual sports are also affected by this phased withdrawal.
According to information reported by NEXT.io, the decision follows an internal strategic review. Pragmatic Play believes that these segments no longer align with its long-term strategy. The company now wishes to focus its resources on areas where it considers it has a stronger market position: slots, live casino, random number generator games and fast-paced games.
A phased transition for partners
This is not an immediate shutdown. The products in question will be phased out over the coming months. During this period, Pragmatic Play will continue to support its partners to facilitate their migration to other platforms.
In the Netherlands, Pragmatic Play’s decision will have a tangible impact on bet365. The operator currently uses Pragmatic Play’s platform for its bingo offering in the Dutch legal market.
This comes shortly after a notable accolade: bet365’s bingo section was recently named best online bingo hall in the ‘Online Casino of the Year 2026’ awards.
Live casino becomes the priority
Pragmatic Play aims to strengthen its presence in the live casino sector. The company plans to continue investing in the expansion of its studios, product innovation, the localisation of its offerings and growth in regulated markets.
In October 2025, Pragmatic Play opened a new live casino studio in Bogotá, Colombia. The provider also plans to further expand its network of studios, in line with its ambition to strengthen this segment.
Latin America and other regulated jurisdictions are highlighted as key growth areas for this business.
